Makara Nedunkuzhaikathar Temple is one of the Nava Tirupathi, nine Hindu temples dedicated to Vishnu located Thenthiruperai along Tiruchendur-Tirunelveli route, Tamil Nadu, India in the southern bank of Thamiraparani river. It is located 5 km from Alwar Thirunagari. All these 9 temples are classified as Divya Desams, the 108 temples of Vishnu revered by the 12 poet saints, or Alwars. The temple is referred to as Sukra sthalam, a location for the planet deity, Sukra. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Makara Nedunkuzhaikathar and his consort Lakshmi as Thiruperai Nachiyar.

Brighu muni and Markandeyar are likewise present in the sannadhi. The utsavar is known as Nigaril Mugil vannan perumal. There are seperate sannadhis to both the thayars - Kuzhaikkaaduvalli thayar and Tirupperai nachiyar.
Sri Kailasanathar Temple, Then Thirupperai This is the seventh in the Nava Kailasam temples, which is dedicated to the God Budha. The temple is nearly 500–1000 years old. The primary deity of the temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped as Ponnammai Sametha Kailasanathar or simply Kailasanathar. Mother Goddess Shakti is worshipped as Alakiya Ponnammai. Shrine of Mother Alakiya Ponnammai is located on the right side of Sanctum facing east.
