Annakotta literally means Elephant's Fort - Punnathur Kotta, is a biggest example why Kerala is called “Land of Elephants”. Its over 11.5 acres and surrounded by green foliage. It is a very beautiful place. Its prime attractions are the jumbo elephants; around 50 of them are kept and taken care of here most of them are male elephants'. It is located in Punnathur Kotta, which is approximately 3 km from the famous Guruvayur Temple

There is an entry fee of ₹ 20/- for adults and parking ticket of ₹ 30/ Visiting Time: Time for visiting the camp is fixed at 9AM – 5 PM. Visiting Duration: The entire trip dos not take longer than 2-3 hours.
Punnathurkotta is a fort and former palace located in Kottapadi, about 3 km from the Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple, in Thrissur District of Kerala State in South India. The prime attraction of this sanctuary is a 500 years old palace, constructed by the erstwhile local rulers known as Punnathur Raja's.
Punnathur Fort was purchased by the Guruvayur Devasom Board in 1975 to house all the elephants of the temple in a comfortable surrounding.
