It is said alwar did mangalasasanams to divya desam emperumanas under this tree, alwar never moved from here all the divya desa perumals/emperumaan's came to this tree ( & were waiting on the branches of this tree) in search of our maran, to sing in praise of them hence perumal fondly called nam alwar (our alwar). And this divine tree is said to be amsam of Adisesha
