Chunchi falls, is an almost 50 feet high cascade of falls, which is fed by the river Arkavati. Chunchi Falls lies en route to Mekedatu and Sangama in Karnataka. It is placed at around 83 km from Bangalore and offers a breathtaking experience; especially after monsoon and during winter months.It derived its name from a tribal couple, Chuncha and Chunchi. These falls are a perfect way to escape the grind, as they are tucked away from the commercialisation and are usually deserted.
