The museum is a good showcase of Hampi with several rock cuts being showcased here. However, in the finest traditions of the ASI, the museum does not allow visitors to take photographs inside its walls even though all the artifacts lying in the grounds around are open to photos - this amazing rule has been around for ages. The best part of the museum is a large model of Hampi and its surroundings which shows the exact position of every major monument. You get an excellent idea of the lay of the land with this.
Entry Fee: Rs. 5 for person. Timings: 10 AM -5 PM on all days except Fridays and on National Holidays.
