Jhari Falls, situated on the way to Baba Budangiri or Kemmangundi from Chikmagalur, is surrounded by dense forest and coffee plantations. This falls is created by the springs generated in the mountains. A pool is formed by the waterfall below which allows visitors swim and play in the water. This is a perfect retreat from the busy city life and it is one of the must visit tourist spots in Chikmagalur.
Tourist cannot take their own vehicles due to very very bad condition of the roads. One must take a Jeep ride from main road to down the hill, which would cost Rs. 600 per Jeep (6 person max). There is also a small shop near the Falls selling hot omelet, Vada Pav, maggi and much more.
The off-road ride is not for anyone with back problems. The water fall is majestic.. Truly a must go for anyone visiting Chikmagalur.
