The Jog water falls created by the Sharavathi river in sharavathi valley of Shimoga district in Karnataka. Its breathtaking spectacle when Sharavathi river falling from a height of 829 ft. It is the most impressive and one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India.
Jog falls which plunges from a height of 253 meters in 4 streams namely Raja, Roarer, Rocket , Rani from the left. River sharavathi which is chief source of electricity in this region forms this amazing waterfalls
The power station has been operational since 1948 and is of 120 MW capacity, one of the largest hydroelectric stations in India
Jog falls trek & steps: You can also walk down to the bottom of the Jog falls by taking the steps which go down to the base of the falls. There is a total of 1,388 steps in total which take you down to the base of the falls. The view is really awesome and different from the bottom of the falls.
