Vattakottai Fort and Vattakottai Beach
Entry fee for an adult Rs. 25. You can see beautiful view of the beach. Timing 8 am to 5 pm. .
Vattakottai Fort is a seaside fort near Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu the southern tip of India. It was built in the 18th century as a coastal defence-fortification and barracks in the erstwhile Travancore kingdom.
This historical edifice was built in the 18th century by the mighty ruler Marthanda Varma to protect the town of Nagercoil. It was constructed under the supervision of Eustachius De Lannoy, a naval leader of the Dutch East India Company, who later became Travancore Army's commander.
