Gingee Fort also known as Chenji or Jinji in Tamil Nadu, India is one of the few surviving forts in Tamil Nadu. Gingee Fort is a huge fort with many attractions: Kalyan Mahal, Chenjiamman Temple, Anaikulam Pond, prisons, granaries, Kamalakkani Temple, watch tower, Ranganathar Temple, etc.Gingee Fort is spread across three hillocks named: Krishnagiri, Rajagiri and Chandrayanyug.
Venugopala swamy Temple contains a remarkable sculpture depicting Lord krishna playing on the flute with is two consorts. Another interesting feature in this temple is a finely polished, broadsmooth slab found in front of the temple.
