Parthasarathy Perumal Temple

The Parthasarathy Temple is a 6th-century Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu, located at Thiruvallikeni in Chennai. This temple is 61 th Divya Desam in 108 Divya Desam series. The name of the moolavar of this temple is "Venkata Krishna" But it has become famous in the name of Utsavaragya "Parthasarathi".

"This is the only Vishnu temple where Perumal appears with a moustache of a Sarathi conducting Arjuna’s Rath in the Kurukshetra battle field."

In any perumal temple vishnu holding Discus and conch. Discus is the main weapon of Lord Vishnu. But, Perumal is without that weapon here. He vowed that and would support the Pandavas in the war but would not hold any weapon. As per that Parthasarathy, he appears without discus. He holds only the conch to announce the war.
