Dhanushkodi Kothandaramaswamy Temple Walking Tour - The Kothandaramaswamy Temple is dedicated to the Lord Rama at Dhanushkodi. Situated on an island that is surrounded by Bay of Bengal, Located at a distance of 13 kilometres from Rameshwaram. The temple is the only historical structure to survive the 1964 cyclone that washed away Dhanushkodi.

Ravana's younger brother Vibhishana advised Ravana to send Sita back. However, Ravana did not heed the advice, leading Vibhishana to flee Sri Lanka and join Rama's army. It is also said that after slaying Ravana, Rama "consecrated" Vibhishana at this place. That is why this temple is also known as "Vibhishan Temple".
