2 Day - Kaumari (கௌமாரி)
3 Day - Varahi (வராஹி)
4 Day - Mahalakshmi (மஹாலக்ஷ்மி)
5 Day - Vaishnavi (வைஷ்ணவி)
6 Day - Indrani (இந்திராணி)
7 Day - Saraswati (சரஸ்வதி)
8 Day - Narasimmi (நரசிம்மி)
9 Day - Samundi (சாமுண்டி))
fought with Mahishasura for 9 days and killed Mahishasura on 10th day "Vijayadasami". Those who fast for 10 days are assured of success.
In the Ramayana, Rama killed Ravana only on Vijayadashami. In the Mahabharata, the Pancha Pandavas fought with the Kauravas on Vijayadasami and won the battle with weapons on the eve of Vijayadasami after their exile.
Even today, Hindus perform pooja on the day before Vijayadashami by cleaning their vehicles, house, utensils etc. and do pooja on the next day and start using the objects and vehicles on the same day. Doing so is believed to bring success in business.
Students also remember Saraswati in Navashakti and worship by keeping their books in "Saraswati Pooja" on the day before Vijayadashami and take the books on the next day on Vijayadashami and read on that day. Doing so is believed to bring success in studies.
Navarathri Golu:
Kolu or Golu is one of the highlights of Navratri. Lord Ambigai said that if you worship with dolls made of five Buddhas(earth, water, fire, air, and ether) on the step platform, you will get good results.
