Chikkajala Fort and Ruins | Bengaluru Tourism
Chikkajala Fort is situated Chikkajala village, 25km from Bangalore. The fort contains a pushkarni, Hanumanth Temple and ruins of fort. We can't surely tell who built this fort. Peoples who lives in Chikkajala village said this fort was built by local Balegar King in the time of Hoyasala empire.
It is believed that the Fort was built for long-distance travelers and livestock.
The style of temple gopuram and style of mantapa same as Hoyasala empire style. Wall of this fort style same as Devanahalli Tipu sultan fort.
Fort inside few Tombs are there.
This fort wall is not strong like other fort so experts saying that this fort is made by wealth people. Some Local villagers said, In 1859 this property bought from mysore empire by Diamond trader Appana cettiyar. He was build this fort, temple. After 1958 karnataka government given this place for rent.
Now In this property has case on court. Dhimakka old lady and 15 years old girl was lived this fort and murdered here. Shantamma and family who is a daughter of Dhimakka did put case for on this fort.
