Silathoranam means Stone Natural Arch. 'This this stone arch is located nearly 2.3kms north to the main Temple in Tirumala. It is just before the 'chakra teertham, and is located on the way to 'Srivaari padaalu'. As per the Geology, only three stone arches are presently there in the world and Silathoranam is one of it. Nowhere else in the world can this type of the rock. The arch has a width of around 8 meters and a height of 3 meters. It is 250 Millions Years old.
Lord srinivasan Idol is this type of rock so Local people beliefs that Lord Srinivasan froze in this place after his avatar according to Puranas. Afterthat King Thondaiman took idol from here and made temple for Lord Venkatesha. Best time to visit this place is mornings and evenings.
There is garden with cute sculptures infront of this Silathoranam. And also small enclosure is there with some peacocks, other small birds, rabbits and some deers. Kids may like this place.
