Kudroli Shri Cheerumbha Bhagavathi Kshetra | Mangalore, Karnataka
Shri Cheerumbha Bhagavathi Kshetra is situated in Kudroli, Mangalore. The main deity of this temple is Shri Cheerumbha. The women God is also called as Devi here. This temple is an incarnation of Durga or Kali, who is known to destroy the demons on earth by the mythic belief of the Hindu religion. There is separate sanctum for Saibaba, Shiva linga and Ganapathi.
This ancient temple was recreated and built with few new structures. Its craftsman is brought from the Kerala and the Karnataka States who were experts in stone architecture. This temple is known to conduct the Kaliyata festival, which is celebrated very grandly, once in a 25 years. During navarathri 9 days festival celebrated in the temple.
