Thyagi Sankaralinganar memorial is located in Anna Nagar, Virudhunagar. Sankaralinganar Nadar was an Indian Tamil independence activist who fasted to death in an effort to change the name of Madras State to Tamil Nadu. The name officially changed to Tamil Nadu on 14 January 1969.
This memorial was opened by chief minister J Jayalalithaa on June 18, 2015. Park is there near to this memorial. The memorial has 4 small open hall. Center of those halls a hall is there with Sankaralinganar statue with memorial.
