Kurudumale Ganesha Temple, kolar , Karnataka
Kurudumale Ganesha Temple is situated in Kurudumale, Mulbagal, Kolar district, Karnataka. This temple is a home to one of the largest idols, has a 13-and-a-half-foot Ganesha idol inside its walls.
This Ganesha idol is said to established by Lord Bramha, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. As per the inscription this temple was built by the powerful king Krishnadevaraya in Vijayanagara Empire.
This temple was built originally under the rule of the Cholas. Later on the temple area came under the Vijayanagara Empire. In fact, the nearby Someshwara temple was built before the Ganesha temple and belongs to the Chola dynasty.
